What is jeki Cheering AD?

"Cheering AD" is an advertising agency operated by JR East Marketing & Communications, Inc., a subsidiary of the East Japan Railway Company.

We offer a service for those who wish to place fan support advertisements, also known as birthday ads.

Guidelines for Placing Fan Support Advertisements in Japan

In Japan, advertising cannot be published without obtaining permission from the artist's office or rights holder.

It is also necessary to obtain permission from the artist office to use materials such as official images of the artists or photographs taken by fans. Use of unlicensed materials is copyright infringement.

※Regarding the use of masternim photos Due to differences in the concept of copyright between Japan and other countries, the use of a masternim’s photograph requires the confirmation of both the artist’s office and the masternim who took the photograph.

※Examples of materials that cannot be used Use of materials from TV programs (music programs, etc.) and magazines is not allowed. Please use other materials in accordance with the rules and regulations of the office and the content of the permission.

We confirm the authorization and material usage with the artist office or copyright holder on your behalf. Please leave the complicated communication with the Japanese office to "Cheering AD".

To place an advertisement through Cheering AD, which includes confirmation of the artist office's permission, please submit your application via the website at least 3 months in advance.

If you have already obtained permission from the artist office to post the advertisement, you may submit your application up to 2 months in advance. In this case, please note that you will need to provide documentation, such as email exchanges or screenshots, to verify the permission granted for the ad placement.

There are two points to be confirmed with artist office when placing fan support ads in Japan.

① Permission for an individual fan or a voluntary fan group to post an ad
→ If you do not have permission from the artist office, you cannot post the ad.

② Permission to use materials (official images, photos, etc.) in advertisements
→ If you do not have permission from the artist office to use the material, it will be rejected by the media company’s design review as a copyright violation, and you will not be able to place the ad.

・Please note that you need to provide a written document (e.g., email correspondence, screenshots, etc.) to prove that you have permission from the office or rights holder. Please upload 2 items: the content the fan or organization requested from the office or rights holder, and the permission you received.

・Please use materials that have been approved by the office for use in advertisements.

・Please do not use unauthorized materials (photos, videos, sound files, etc.).

・Please note that we cannot be held responsible for the use of any materials that you do not have permission to use.

This is the website where you can apply to place fan support advertisements.

After applying through our website, we will confirm the permission with the artist office and then check the availability of advertisement slot or space. Once payment is received, we'll begin the process of securing your advertisement space.

Please note that advertisement space is sold on a first-come, first-served basis upon completion of payment. Reservations are not accepted, and cancellations are not possible after registration, so please be aware of this policy.
